Statement of Faith
"And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." (Acts 16:31)
We ask that all participating families agree with our Statement of Faith.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is God’s Holy Word. It is the only divinely inspired, infallible, and inerrant revelation of God to man.
(2 Timothy 3:16) (John 1:1)
The Trinity
We believe there is one God eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
(1 John 5:7) (Ephesians 4:4-6)
God the Father
We believe God the Father created the entire universe in six 24-hour days. God created all living things including men and women. God is eternal, holy, sovereign, all-knowing, all-powerful, perfect, loving, righteous, merciful, and just.
(Genesis 1) (Jeremiah 9:23-24)
God the Son
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived a perfect and sinless life. God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to rescue us from our sins by dying on the cross. By sacrificing His life on behalf of sinners, He took the punishment we deserve to provide salvation. Then God raised Jesus from the dead, confirming the work of Jesus on the cross and establishing His power over death.
(John 3:16) (1 John 4:14) (John 20)
God the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a spirit of conviction first to the unsaved to draw them to repentance, a spirit of consolation to the saved as an arbitrator of God’s encouragement and peace to our spirit and is God’s seal who marks those belonging to Him as Children of God the moment they repent and in faith, trust Jesus to be their personal Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit permanently indwells and transforms every believer to be spiritually born again as a new creation living for the Lord.
(Acts 1 & 2)
Man
We believe God loved what he created and created us to truly know, serve, please, and worship Him forever. He loved us and wanted to live in fellowship with us. In the beginning, we lived in harmony and happiness with God and one another (Genesis 1:31). In our early history the first humans turned away from God and went their own way and fellowship with God was broken. Now, all people are born with a sinful nature, and without exception all of us have sinned (Romans 3:23). The consequence of this is that we are separated from God and deserve punishment for our sins (Romans 6:23).
Salvation
We believe the only way sinners can be rescued from God’s coming wrath and reconciled to God is by God’s grace alone, in Jesus Christ alone, and through faith alone. Genuine belief involves repentance and faith that trusts in Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection to receive righteousness, forgiveness, and eternal life.
(John 3:16) (John 14:6) (Ephesians 2:8-9) (Romans 10:9-10) (John 3:36)
The Church
We believe the church is comprised of all true believers. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and the church is the bride and body of Christ called to be holy and blameless.
(2 Corinthians 11:2, Ephesians 5:27, Revelation 19:7)
Family & Education
We believe children are the blessing of the Lord to parents, the fruit of the love relationship in marriage that is the symbol of the love Christ has for the church. God instructs parents to teach their children the love of God and a love for God. “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise”. Deuteronomy 6:4-7
(2 Timothy 3:15) (Psalms 127:3)
